While 98% of the music CDs are all classical or motion picture soundtracks, I wasn’t always a big classical music listener. In fact – like every one else around me when I was teenager – I listened to a lot of modern and pop music. Up till I switched to classical from 1986, I was familiar with all the billboard hits of Whitney Houston, Madonna, a-ha, Duran Duran, Chicago, Michael Jackson (when he was still black!) etc.
I was surfing around looking on Youtube for all the old modern pop I remembered, and boy what nostalgia it all is. So, over the next few weeks whenever the weather’s dry and I’ve got nothing else to post, I’m gonna post up an ‘oldie’ pop – and wonder if there’s anyone else around my age who remember all these songs.:)
Here’s the first one and one of the earliest pop songs that I remembered listening to: “You’re the Inspiration” by Chicago. Interestingly, the band is still around though not with the distinctive vocals of Peter Cetera. He’s the dude doing the lead vocals in the video below. Yep, the voice is almost falsetto.:)
